Designing the Web column
MacWEEK/eMediaWeekly
The Job
MacWEEK asked me to write a monthly column covering issues in Web design.
The Solution
Beginning in 1997, I wrote Designing the Web for MacWEEK, continuing when the magazine changed its name and format to become eMediaWeekly, until the magazine stopped publishing in 1999. I was responsible for selecting the topics and letting readers know what was important, interesting, or controversial that month in Web design.
Topics included:
The browser wars
Dynamic HTML
Plug-ins
Defining audience needs
Giving up control over your design
Page layout programs for HTML
Macromedia Flash
The importance of XML
