Peachpit Press’s On the Web series

The Job
In 1998, Peachpit Press wanted to create a series called “On the Web” that would cover a variety of Web publishing skills in a number of related volumes. Publisher Nancy Ruenzel contracted with me to create an editorial strategy for the series.

The Solution
I created a set of editorial standards that created a structure flexible enough to accommodate different subjects while providing a look and feel that would be recognizable across the series. The hallmark was a scannable, accessible style like those I had developed for earlier Peachpit books such as The Little PC Book. I then worked with Peachpit’s design director Mimi Heft to develop a graphic design using the strategy.
