Websights: The Future of Business and Design on the Internet (contributor)

The Job
The publishers of Print magazine asked me to write a chapter in a book that addressed the Internet and its effects on design. The chapter I wrote was a glossary of Web design terminology.

The Solution
I decided to pattern my chapter on Ambrose Bierce’s Devil’s Dictionary and provide a wry look at the ever-changing, always confusing jargon designers would need to master in order to be taken seriously in the world of the Web. The title, “Graceful Degradation and Other Concepts Peculiar to Web Design," sets the tone.
